What is Venetian Plaster?

Venetian plaster is putty made from fired limestone and water, creating lime plaster. When the lime plaster is applied to walls or ceilings and exposed to the co2 in the air, the mixture turns back into limestone again.

All our finishes are sealed with a wax coating, making them non-porous and easy to clean. We recommend washing with a cloth, warm water, and mild soap, then pat dry. Venetian plaster dries quickly without retaining moisture. Venetian plaster can also be applied in several styles, textures, and sheens in any color requested.

Venetian plaster will last a lifetime and beyond, it is low maintenance and extremely durable. The products we use are all eco-friendly made of materials that are all natural, nontoxic and emic zero VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are a large group of chemicals that are found in many products we use to build and maintain our home.) The high PH content acts like an antibacterial surface prohibiting the growth of mould and fungus resulting in cleaner air.

Durability and Washability

Venetian plaster is extremely easy to maintain and is highly durable. It won’t crack even when put under significant pressure, however if it does get damaged it can be patched without re-plastering the whole surface due to its malleable consistency. Venetian plaster is long lasting and doesn’t fade over time.

GRASSELLO

Grassello means “slaked lime” and is made from lime, marble dust, and water that achieves a smooth polished plaster finish. Hand burnishing creates a high shine, marble-like effect.

MARMORINO

Marmorino directly translates as “little marble” in Italian. Marmorino contains natural limestone, powdered marble and fine sand. It is used for interior and exterior wall decorations and can be finished via multiple techniques for a variety of matte, satin, and glossy final effects.

CLAY PLASTER

Clay plaster is a type of venetian plaster formulated on the specific properties of lime hydrate, purified clay, selected marbles and natural sands, which when appropriately balanced, allow excellent workability and moldability.The clay component creates a network structure of particles, adjusts processing times and improves the workability of the product.

MICROCEMENT

Microcement is a decorative coating composed of cement, water-based resins, additives, and mineral pigments that can be applied on a multitude of vertical and horizontal surfaces thanks to its great adherence. This construction material stands out because it is applied directly onto existing materials: tiles, plasterboard, floor tiles, marble, terrazzo, or plaster, among many others.
